Resolve Counselling

An Experienced Guide

No one can change your journey or walk it for you. Only you can do that. This is your story to live, author, and tell.

The dark does not scare me. I have my own path and have been to the depths. Although it is not the same as yours, I can be like guide - to accompany, to witness, to listen with a felt intuitive sense, explore and navigate together, help you pay attention to internal and external warning signs and cues, your own internal guide posts, direct you to helpful resources, and offer specialized training. I may be and share a few things I’ve learned along the way if it is applicable and helpful, and of course to encourage you and celebrate the climb!

Over the years, people have affirmed to me that I have a unique ability to connect and help people feel comfortable, safe and at ease. I practice with genuine gentleness, sensitivity, intuition, authenticity, compassion, humour, acceptance, curiosity, creativity, and a sense of adventure so that people feel open to exploring their needs in a safe container. Counselling is a tool that gives a place to find yourself and to find some resolution.

A bit about me…..

Originally from the prairies, my family and I relocated to Vancouver Island in 2004. As somewhat of an “emotional refugee” I was seeking some solace and help my own healing journey. The quote by Karen Blixen, “the cure for anything is salt water; sweat, tears, or the sea” is a fitting metaphor. Over 20 years I slowly integrated into the culture and the land. I’m so grateful for the rich, diverse, and even the sometimes difficult experiences here. We left the island for 4 years on a different adventure, but am so deeply grateful to be back here.

I’ve learned and continue to learn so much about the environment and unceded territories, social justice, power and privilege, the people. I’m especially grateful to the lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples, the Songhees, Esquimalt, and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples, who have been here since time immemorial. I’m still learning about decolonization and reconciliation, and my part in relation in helping to heal the deep wounds that have impacted generations.

My partner of over 30 years and two adult children also have come to call this home. I am spending all the time with and in the natural elements that I can. I’m branching into new areas of community involvement, new hobbies, and outside of spending time with my family, I love sitting by the fire, making and creating things, deeply smelling the “ocean lotion” air many times a day, and sharing the rollercoaster of life’s journey with treasured soul friends whenever possible.
